Bad News Good News I guess
DistractedThey did a check on it before committing to any repairs and said the hard drive has errors and it wouldn't be worth my money to fix it. Sad...I liked that thing.
Not a huge loss though considering it was given to me free by a friend (and was damaged when I got it) and I got quite a lot of use out of it. It might still be somewhat usable even. And they only charged me less the $40 to check it...
Good News: I don't have to spend $300 to fix the screen. So I still have most of my profits from Acen left.
I might look into saving for a little laptop of my own after Anime Iowa. Till then I have the desktop.
That also means I have some extra moola to spend on myself. Despite what my mom says every freakin' time I mention wanting to buy something for myself (Hell woman, I'm the most penny-pinching person in our family, let me splurge once and awhile!)
